Principal's Message

Dear CMP Families,

We hope you are all enjoying a relaxing and peaceful summer! As we are preparing for the 2016-2017 school year (which is going to be amazing), there are a few things we want to share with you before the start of the school year.

As a Montessori school, we seek to follow the road map that the Montessori pedagogy promotes. At the same time, we adhere to the district and state expectations and guidelines, being a public charter school. As you are aware, Maria Montessori firmly believed in multi-aged groupings whereby students learn "horizontally" from observations of other's work, directly or indirectly, in addition to the teacher guiding students in small group lessons or with one on one instruction. We will hold true to multi-grade classrooms, teachers teaching in the grades that they are Montessori certified, and low student to teacher ratios.

We are completing a facilities project of four additional rooms at the Bradshaw Road site over the summer that will allow for the opening of two additional upper elementary classrooms.  The middle school classes will be moving into the new classroom space.  We will also be opening a school library the new space, as well as a designated Club M space.

With the expansion and moving of classrooms, we will be looking for additional help this summer as we prepare for the new school year.  Summer is a great time to get a jump-start on your parent participation! There are several projects planned and we could use additional help to spruce up both sites starting on Monday, June 27th.  In the mean time, have a beautiful and relaxing day as you enjoy some summer fun!
